Nightlife in Canggu, Bali
Canggu is known for it’s incredible nightlife at a variety of venues, there’s literally a popular spot every night of the week!
Here’s a list of all the hotspots by day:
Mondays - Luigi’s is the Monday night go to for most in Canggu. Pizza restaurant by day, with a DJ and dance floor by night starting at 10pm. Get ready do dance the night away on the dance floor and on the table tops. Also keep an eye out for their hype man who comes around with a snorkel beer bong to make you chug your drink (I have definitely done a couple of these hahah). Unfortunately the party closes early, well for me at least! After everyone heads down to Sand bar by Old Man’s, a literal club on the beach with multiple levels and different music on each stage. Sauced up enough to get a random cheap tattoo?? Make sure to head to the upper level of the club where you’ll see people lined up either getting tattooed or waiting to get one and no…. I did not get one if you’re curious haha!
Tuesdays - Pretty Poison is the spot to be till 11pm, an epic bar with a skate bowl/ramp on the patio and usually a live band playing inside. Surprisingly enough, as grunge as it may seem, they create awesome cocktails as well! This is one of my favorite places to grab a drink while I’m in Canggu. Head next door quickly after to check out Black Cat Mini Mart, a speakeasy style bar where you walk into a small convenient store to the back where you will find and “Out of Order” refrigerator. Open the door and you’ll find a bar with pool tables and a patio!
Wednesdays -Old Man’s, Sand Bar and Techno Bar are the places to be Wednesday nights! Make sure to sign up for the beer pong tourney at Old Man’s or just dance the night away at the many atmospheres between the 3 stages. The Vault is a great late night underground nightclub with Wednesday’s being hip hop night which opens at 11pm and goes till late. The location is pretty out of the way from the center of Canggu and drink prices are inflated so keep that in mind when visiting!
Thursdays - Pretty Poison is your place to be on Thursday as well! Since Pretty Poison closes early every night, many people will either make their way to Old Man’s if they want to continue the party. If you’re looking to switch things up from Old Man’s, check out The Vault which opens at 11pm! If neither sound appealing, take this night to rest because Friday nights have some great contenders for a fun night out.
Fridays - The Lawn, a beautiful upscale bar/beach club that offers bottle service, cocktails and a verrrry busy happy hour. They do 2 for 1 from 8-10pm, but get there early, they’re usually 3 deep at the bar so getting drinks is hard at times! La Barisa is also another beautiful day club that’s great on Fridays! If you’re looking to keep the party going, just a short walk away is Old Man’s and Sandbar. If that doesn’t satisfy your party cravings, head to The Vault nightclub where you can dance the night away till the early morning hours.
Saturdays - Surprisingly enough, Saturday’s are relatively quiet in Canggu. Old Man’s and Black Cat Mini Mart are both options, but if you’re looking for the crowds, you’ll definitely find them in Semyinak at La Favela or one of Seminyak’s other very popular bars!
Sundays - Dues Ex Machina is the place to be on sundays with live music and reasonably priced drinks. Sundays also tend to be pretty quiet in Canggu. Maybe people are strategically saving themselves for Monday’s epic night at Luigi’s!
Pro Tip: Pit Stop is the beeeeest drunk food in the heart of Canggu, so make sure to stop by and grab a burger after your night out! If it’s packed, no worries! There are a few other kabab options within walking distance.
